The woman accusing Chicago Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane of sexually assaulting her in his hometown of Buffalo earlier this month had bite marks on her back and a scratch on her leg following the alleged attack.

The Buffalo News reports the woman claims Kane attacked her after the two met at the downtown SkyBar and later she and a female friend went back to his Town of Hamburg waterfront residence for a private party. Once there, the woman alleges she ventured into a room alone and was soon overpowered by the high-scoring veteran.

Reports are the woman and her friend immediately left Kane's home after the alleged attack and she used a cellphone to call a relative. She then traveled to a local hospital for an examination, where police were called.

On the morning in question, Kane was seen leaving the SkyBar around 4 a.m. and the alleged attack took place about an hour after that. A person who knows the woman described her as frantic and traumatized when she called her relative to report what happened.

WGN News reported Blackhawks owner Rocky Wirtz has expressed disappointment over the police investigation, but said he remained "hopeful" about the overall situation.

Police have stressed their investigation is continuing and Kane has not been charged. The 26-year-old Kane is now in his eighth season with the Hawks and signed an eight-year, $84 million extension during the 2014 offseason.

Kane's best NHL season came during the 2009-10 when he bagged 30 goals and 58 assists for 88 points. Since being the top overall pick by the Hawks in the 2007 NHL Draft, Kane has seven seasons of registering at least 60 points and has led Chicago to three Stanley Cup titles in six seasons.
