Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United kicked off their 2015-16 English Premier League season campaign on the right foot, while defending champions Chelsea settled for a draw.

Manchester City 3 - 0 West Bromwich Albion

Manchester City proved that they are a force to reckon with this season after pulling off a 3-0 win over home team West Bromwich Albion on Monday at The Hawthorns in England.

Yaya Toure started the scoring parade, when he netted a right-footed strike from outside the box in the ninth minute of the match, which was followed by another goal in the 24th minute to give Manchester City a 2-0 lead.

Vincent Kompany made it 3-0 in the 59th minute, and Manchester City held on to the lead until the final whistle, giving new recruit Raheem Sterling a winning debut.

Liverpool 1 - 0 Stoke City

Liverpool also had a winning debut on Sunday, as they escaped with a 1-0 win against Stoke City at Britannia Stadium.

The uneventful match looked headed to a scoreless draw, but Philippe Coutinho broke the silence with a stunning 30-yard strike in the 86th minute to help Liverpool take the victory.

Manchester United 1- 0 Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United had a shaky start, but the Red Devils also escaped with a 1-0 win against the Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Manchester United, who played without top goalkeeper David De Gea, almost surrendered a goal early in the match, but Christian Eriksen's shot went over the bar.

Manchester United then took a 1-0 lead off an own goal from Kyle Walker in the 22nd minute, which ended up as the lone goal of the match.

Chelsea 2 - 2 Swansea City

Defending champions Chelsea failed to take all three points in their season opener, as they settled for a 2-2 draw against Swansea City on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

Oscar gave Chelsea a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute. Andre Ayew answered with his own strike in the 29th minute to tie the game, but Chelsea went ahead again the following minute off a Federico Fernandez own goal.

The Blues took a 2-1 lead into the break, but Bafetimbi Gomis tied the game in the 55th minute. He converted a penalty, which he drew from Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who was sent off after getting a red card.
