The caped-crusader and the man of steel are set on a collision course in 2016's "Batman v Superman." If the film's trailer is any indication, the two superheroes won't be having the spotlight all to themselves.

At any rate, the clips suggest that the two will be joining forces with other superheroes at some point in the movie to take on a greater foe. The movie will be a launching board for other DC characters with a certain Amazonian princess getting her solo film next.

Fans who are looking forward to the 2017 "Wonder Woman" movie don't have to wait that long as Diana will have role in next year's "Batman v Superman."

A recent report has expanded on her character, revealing more details on Wonder Woman's involvement in the film.

According to Heroic Hollywood, Wonder Woman, portrayed by Gal Gadot, will have a mega-fight scene with Doomsday. Doomsday is the hulking monster responsible for Superman's death in the comics. He has since become a premiere villain to the Justice League.

"During the fight with Doomsday, Wonder Woman draws that awesome sword of hers, swings it at Doomsday and manages to chop off the hand of the beast!" Umberto Gonzales of HH wrote.

"Wonder Woman is badass and got skills but don't count Doomsday out! He is still in the fight! Complications ensue because a BONE BLADE grows back where Doomsday's hand used to be! In screenwriting that's called a reversal. Now Doomsday got a blade of his own," continued the writer.

Doomsday gives the movie added muscle as a literal Batman versus Superman fight would be a short and unworthy one. Although he has the wits and gadgets to challenge the god-like Superman, Bruce Wayne is only human after all. With Doomsday, the movie presents Superman with an equally powerful foe. The result of that clash will likely be the catalyst for future Justice League films.

According to Screen Rant, Doomsday's inclusion makes sense in the film as it could "give the filmmakers a big climatic battle baddie, and a means to unite Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman around a common foe," among other things.

Aside from Gadot, "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and Lawrence Fishburne.

The movie hits theaters on Mar. 25, 2016 while "Wonder Woman" opens on June 23, 2017.
