D23 showed a lot of interesting footage for Marvel’s projects, but none was more hotly anticipated than "Captain America: Civil War."

The film, according to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, is the culmination of the previous films in the Marvel Universe and is certainly getting people excited.

The film looks to be an Avengers movie in all but its name, with almost every major superhero in the Marvel Universe making an appearance - only Thor is sitting this one out. The new trailer features a plethora of action sequences that showcase Crossbones, Bucky Barnes and all of the heroes in good measure.

One striking image is a fight between Hawkeye and the Black Widow, thus confirming that the two close friends are on opposing sides of the battle. This is by far the most interesting of the conflicts in the film, as the two have been shown to be the closest of friends throughout the two previous Avengers movies.

What sides they fight for is also going to be intriguing. Rumor has it that Hawkeye is taking sides with Captain America while the Black Widow is joining forces with Iron Man. Hawkeye’s allegiance to the Captain is not too difficult to imagine, but Widow’s siding with Iron Man, especially considering her experiences with Captain American in “The Winter Soldier,” certainly strike one as odd.

The trailer hinted at Ant-Man bringing the comic relief to the new movie. At the end of the trailer, he expresses his undying gratitude for Captain American for “thinking” of him.

“Oh my god, Captain America, it’s an honor” he stammers. “I know you know a lot of super people, so thanks for thinking of me.”

The hotly anticipated film arrives in May of 2016, ushering in the third phase of Marvel’s cinematic universe.

Marvel also previewed the upcoming “Doctor Strange” movie at D23.
