Lupita Nyong'O is riding a career high and her star is only continuing its ascent. The Academy Award winner will be a part of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and "The Jungle Book," two massive films that are generating serious buzz as early as now.

Nyong'O graced the D23 Expo 2015 to discuss her upcoming high-profile roles and divulge some of the scoop around the much-awaited movies.

Slated to play the pirate Maz Kanata in JJ Abrams' "The Force Awakens," Nyong'O is coy about her CG character and not a lot of details have been revealed about her. In an interview with Fandango, the stylish actress said it's not likely fans will get a glimpse of the pirate before the big screen premiere.

"Well, the easy part is you don't get to see me until you see the film," Nyong'O explained. "All you get is dots on my face."

Despite the mysterious nature of her character, the actress was more than willing to talk about her joy at being part of the storied "Star Wars" franchise. She expounded on it with Entertainment Weekly during the expo saying, "To be able to have that experience and the continuation of Han Solo, and Luke, and Leia's journey is really a blessing, to be able to play a small part in that."

From a pirate in a galaxy far, far away, Nyong'O transforms into another character in the depths of the lush jungles of India. "The Jungle Book" is a movie that's a far cry from the epic battles set in space, but it has a story that is just as compelling.

"It's another world altogether as well," she continued, in the interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I really enjoyed that process, playing the mother of this boy and just the love between a human and a wolf was something really cool to explore."

Jon Favreau's "The Jungle Book" unveiled the first trailer at Disney's D23 expo, with Nyong'O, Ben Kingsley and Neel Sethi. The hype for the film increased with the stunning footage and the trailer earned the team a standing ovation from the audience, according to The Wrap.

Aside from the two highly-anticipated films, Nyong'O is part of a third Disney project called "The Queen of Katwe." It's based on a true story of a chess prodigy from Uganda.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters on December 18, 2015, while "The Jungle Book" will open on April 15, 2016.
