"Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will undeniably be the most hyped film of all time. The onus was previously carried by “Episode I: The Phantom Menace,” but that film never quite lived up to the hype for many fans.

Hype is not usually a great thing, as it builds anticipation that is often tough to reach. That, however, is not deterring artist Drew Struzan from claiming that Episode VII is “far and away probably going to be THE BEST Star Wars you’ve ever seen.”

The artist behind the new poster for the film recently spoke with Movie Weekly and revealed that he read the script for the new J.J. Abrams film and saw half of the film as well. That is how he ultimately came to the above conclusion regarding its quality.

He stated that watching it helped him create the now iconic poster.

“Having seen the film I know what it is about. I got familiar with the characters, so I know what they’re portraying in their feelings. So I paint the situation and I paint the feelings,” said Struzan. “Not to tell the story, but to tell you how you’re going to feel when you see the film.”

One of the most interesting points about the poster is Finn wielding a lightsaber; Struzan noted that he was not given any opposition about making the revelation in creating the image.

The image of the Stormtrooper holding the sacred weapon brings up a lot of questions. Is Finn force-sensitive? There has never been a Stormtrooper that possesses the power of the force. However, there seems to be no restriction on force sensitivity in the cinematic universe, though the Skywalkers have proven that it could be hereditary.

The other issue it brings up is whether he is to be trained to be a Jedi or if it is simply an action he takes in the moment. Many suspect that Rey, who does not wield a saber in the poster, is a Skywalker and her lacking the weapon is rather curious.

Of course, it could be Struzan hiding information from the audience members and leaving spoilers out of it.
