The Season 2 premiere of "Empire" is just weeks away and a new promo shows fans what's in store.

In the new promo we see Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) reaching out to his younger brother Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Y. Gray).

"I want you back at Empire...because we're family," Jamal tells his little brother.

Meanwhile, the family members have started a battle for the company that was started by their parents Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) and Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) in a garage more than two decades ago.

At the end of Season 1, Lucious gave the company to Jamal. Cookie wanted the entire family to own the company so she decided to fight for what she believes belongs to her, Hakeem and their other brother Andre Lyon (Trai Byers).

Although Andre is not an entertainer like his younger brothers, he is the only family member who is college educated and has always ran the business side of the company. His mom believes he should own part of the company as well.

At the same time, Lucious is behind bars under the accusation that he killed Cookie's cousin Bunkie (Antoine McKay). Meanwhile, the star witness Vernon Turner (Malik Yoba) is dead. Will Lucious be freed from prison soon?

Scenes from the recent promo show Lucious recording music with an orange jumpsuit on. Nothing can stop him. In one visit at the prison Lucious tells Jamal, "Music rules the world son." What does he have up his sleeve now?

At the end of the promo Cookie says, "This is about taking the Empire." It is not clear who she is talking to though.

Is Cookie planning to take the entire company from Jamal? Or does she want to be a family again and work together like she planned in Season 1.

The next season will have numerous guest stars as well, including Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Chris Rock and Al Sharpton.
