Ellen DeGeneres could soon have Oprah Winfrey to thank for her new look and image.

Radar Online reports with rumblings of Winfrey's potential return to TV coming as early as next year, the 57-year-old DeGeneres "is readying for a major update to her show and image."

A source said DeGeneres has been contemplating the changes for a while now, and has been openly discussing the issue with her team. The source added DeGeneres shares the seemingly growing opinion that her nearly 12-year-old show is "looking tired" and she has even grown weary of doing the pre-show dance.

"She's at the top of her game and knows the only way is down and she does not want to be caught napping at the wheel," a source commented.

And all the potential changes don't end there. Reports are Portia de Rossi's partner also "wants to revamp herself from head to toe."

A source added, "She'll still stick to her masculine styling and signature cropped hair, but she really wants to freshen up her whole image."

Through it all, DeGeneres and de Rossi are rumored to also be desperately working to improve their marriage. The two have reportedly entered into couple's counseling after a string of emotionally-charged disputes seemingly had them headed for divorce court.

"It was a very unhealthy situation, but they have begun the healing process," a source said of the pair's relationship. "They are finally dealing with their issues. Portia often complains that she feels bullied. With Ellen's show on hiatus for the summer, she is home bossing Portia around all day and expecting her to be at her beck and call."

After recently returning from a trip to South Africa, the couple was also rumored to be fighting nonstop. According to In Touch Weekly, the two engaged in a huge dispute upon returning to the States about de Rossi's career. Sources added the spat came on top of a series of heated disagreements triggered by accusations of infidelity and rampant drug use within their relationship.
