Just days after announcing her separation from her husband Brian Austin, Megan Fox is now filing for divorce, according to TMZ.

Fox has cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce, and she is seeking joint physical and legal custody of her and Austin's two sons.

TMZ sources claim that Fox and Austin did not sign a pre-nup when they were married, so all of their assets and earnings will be divided equally in half.

Sources also claim that Fox will most likely be required to pay Austin spousal support because she reportedly makes more money than him, and he suffered several medical problems in the past, which have negatively affected his finances.

But despite their divorce, Fox and Austin reportedly remain friends and continue to live in the same home, says TMZ.

People suggests that Fox will advance further in her career as an actress now that she is no longer with Austin.

"Megan and Brian's split is a classic Hollywood story of two people in different stages of life and career," says a People source, adding, "Megan is young and hot and sought after for work, and she is eager to move ahead in her career. Brian wants more of her time than she can allow."

The source also revealed that Fox's chaotic work schedule put a great amount of stress on how she and Austin raised their kids while juggling their careers.

"Megan has always been career-oriented and noted because she was so beautiful," the source explains. "Now she is being recognized for her talent, and like anyone else with Hollywood ambitions, she wants to pursue those options. The timing just wasn't working for her relationship."

E! News reports that Austin was recently spotted out at a Los Angeles gas station, and he was still wearing his wedding band. So far, neither Austin nor Fox has publicly commented on their divorce.
