The enormous success of "Straight Outta Compton" over the past two weeks has guaranteed a sequel film for the biographical project. The sequel, which will segue into the post-N.W.A. era, will feature the rise of other big west coast rappers, according to TMZ.

There is no doubt that the violence that played out on the streets of Compton during the rise of N.W.A. ushered in an era of gangster rap that saw the rise of industry legends such as Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, Daz and Warren G.

The tentative title for the follow up film will be "Dogg Pound 4 Life," but there is no word yet whether "Straight Outta Compton" will precede it in the title, in the style that titles of most franchises tend to use these days.

It is also not for sure yet whether the film will even be considered a part of the same universe as "Compton," given that there will be appearances in the film by Ice Cube, but reportedly not the same actor that played him in the original film.

The movie is also expected to cash in on the momentum that has been geared up by "Compton," including alternate stories that took place at the time.

One part of the story that could lead to a potentially dangerous situation for the movie's producers is the story of Suge Knight, and how he will be portrayed.

Given that Knight is in the middle of manslaughter charges against him -- ensuing from real-live "Compton"-style violent events that played out during the filming of the movie -- that particular rap mogul may have strong feelings about how he is portrayed on-screen in its sequel.

The producers of the film will not be working with Knight regarding his character in the film. But nevertheless, Knight and his Death Row records will reportedly have a presence in it.
