ESPN's Dianna Marie Russini reports, via a tweet, that the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to trade quarterback Matt Barkley. The Eagles are full of quarterbacks and Barkley will be showcased in the preseason to increase his trade value. He has played well against Andrew Luck and the Colts.

Coach Chip Kelly has selected Sam Bradford as the starter, according to a report from The Blow. Other quarterbacks in the team are Mark Sanchez and the returning Tim Tebow.

As per Bleacher Report, Barkley has only played four games in his first two seasons in the NFL. He has thrown a total of 300 yards in two seasons and has backed up Mark Sanchez and Nick Foles. According to the report, he might be doing the same thing with Bradford and Sanchez this season.

The arrival of Tebow might be the reason for putting Barkley in the trading block. Fansided reports that Chip Kelly has plans for the former Heisman Trophy winner and he is not going anywhere unless he becomes a major bust.

Sources from CBS Sports say that some executives and coaches around the NFL believe that Kelly prefers to keep Tebow for key gadget plays, fourth-down situations and two-point conversions.

"I like how Timmy threw it. That's the big concern with everybody coming in: 'Has he really changed?' And I think his sequencing is better. He got his feet underneath him. And when the guys ran the right routes and he had an opportunity to throw the football, I thought he threw the ball really well," says Kelly.

Barkley finished his showcase against the Colts with 12 of 20 for 192 yards and one interception. He was effective, spread the ball well and moved in a quick pace. "I'm confident in my arm. I'm confident with my timing with the receivers," Barkley said after his game against the Colts.

The former University of Southern California quarterback was drafted in the fourth round in 2013. He has a high football IQ and good accuracy for a young quarterback, according to RantSports. A change of scenery for Barkley might help him succeed in the NFL. The New York Jets are a possible destination with Geno Smith out in the first four games of the season.

Barkley is only 24 years old and has another two years remaining on his four-year, $2.739 million rookie contract. He has base salaries of $592,500 and $685,000 over the remaining two years of the agreements as reported by NFL Trade Rumors.
