Apparently, the war between Donald Trump and Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly is not over.

The bad blood flowing between the 2016 Republican presidential frontrunner and the star news anchor became apparent a few weeks ago during the first GOP presidential debate when Trump accused the moderator of being mean to him.

"Honestly, Megyn, if you don't like it, I'm sorry, I've been very nice to you although I probably could maybe not be based on the way you've been to me," the billionaire real estate mogul told the journalist during the live debate.

Afterwards, Trump accused her of asking him tougher debate questions than the other GPP candidates.

"I think her question was extremely unfair to me -- her whole question was unfair to me," Trump told CNN.

Shortly thereafter, Fox News President Roger Ailes reportedly stepped in to help the two squash their beef. However, the reality television star launched another round of attack on the news anchor on Monday night during the airing of her nightly television show. Trump criticized Kelly, who had just returned from vacation, tweeting that she "must have had a terrible vacation, she is really off her game."

Before her show was over, he also tweeted that "I liked The Kelly File much better without @MegynKelly. Perhaps she could take another eleven day unscheduled vacation!"

He even went as far as to retweet a tweet calling her a "bimbo" and another that said "she came back looking like Nancy Grace."

Following Trump's Twitter tirade, Ailes released a statement Tuesday afternoon, slamming Trump for his latest attack and defending Kelly.

"Donald Trump's surprise and unprovoked attack on Megyn Kelly during her show last night is as unacceptable as it is disturbing," Ailes said in a statement obtained by CNNMoney.

He also demanded that the famously non-apologetic media personality to apologize to her.

"Donald Trump rarely apologizes, although in this case, he should."

In response, Trump dismissed Kelly during a news conference Tuesday evening.

"I don't care about Megyn Kelly," he said during a news conference. "She should probably apologize to me, but I just don't care."

Trump also put out his own statement, stating, "I totally disagree with the Fox statement. I do not think Megyn Kelly is a quality journalist. I think her questioning of me, despite all of the polls saying I won the debate, was very unfair. Hopefully in the future I will be proven wrong and she will be able to elevate her standards to a level of professionalism that a network such as Fox deserves."
