Another variant of the Xiaomi Mi 4 called the "Xiaomi Mi 4c" has been teased online.

According to NDTV Gadgets, Xiaomi previously launched its new Mi 4i in India first. The scheme might not sit well with Chinese fans, but the fervently growing market in India is just hard to miss. Could Xiaomi follow the footsteps of Motorola and rebrand the same product for release elsewhere? A recent leak suggests this might be the case.

A live capture from China has showed off the packaging box of the rumored Mi 4c, revealing the majority of the handset's specs, which, in many respects, resembles that of the Mi 4i. Whether or not the handsets are one and the same is still a speculation as information has been scarce as of the moment.

As to the hardware specs of the Mi 4c, it might be Xiaomi's first handheld offering to be fitted with a USB Type-C version 3 plug connector, NDTV Gadgets noted.

The Mi 4c will have a five-inch 1080p display, a modest 3,080mAh battery and 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB of internal storage. Its 1.4GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor will feature two Cortex-A57 CPU cores, four A53 cores and an Adreno 418 GPU.

The device will feature the same 13-megapixel main camera and a five-megapixel selfie snapper as the Mi 4i. It will run on the recently seeded MIUI 7 while being capable of 3G, GPRS and LTE connectivity.

"Xiaomi is allegedly set to announce the new phone at the start of September, though the Chinese company isn't expected to make an appearance at IFA 2015 this week. As for the price, the Mi4c could cost around 1,299 Yuan (roughly $200) off-contract," Techno Buffalo reported.

The Mi 4c isn't the only Xiaomi product circulating the rumor mills lately. The Chinese mobile giant is allegedly working on the rumored Mi Edge. In a previous report from Latin Post, The Mi Edge's will feature a dual-curved edge design similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

Xiaomi's curved handset will have Sharp's 5.2-inch 2K display, Qualcomm's 64-bit hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor and 3G B or 4 GB of RAM, as reported by Chinese website Mobile-Dad via Tech Firstpost.

The Mi Edge will have a metal build while featuring a 16-megapixel main camera, a fingerprint scanner and the Adreno 418 GPU.
