Chris Brown is denying rumors he skipped out on a recently scheduled appearance in Atlanta because he knew members in the audience were gay.

"I wasn't aware or informed of a show I supposedly canceled," Brown posted on Twitter. "I have nothing but love and respect for the LGBT COMMUNITY."

The 25-year-old "Loyal" singer has come under heavy fire after being a no-show at an Atlanta Black Gay Pride event on Saturday. According to the GA Voice, Brown was slated to introduce Teyana Taylor at the Georgia Freight Depot in downtown Atlanta at an event promoted by Traxx Girls, a lesbian-owned entertainment company, as "the biggest girl party in attendance."

Just hours before, he had performed with Taylor at Aaron's Amphitheatre in nearby Lakewood as part of his One Hell of a Nite tour.

Event organizers estimated as many as 4,000 fans were left hanging by Brown's nonappearance, rumored to be fueled by his anger that gay men would also be part of the crowd.

"You know it's gay pride," party promoter Melissa Scott told GA Voice. "You knew you agreed when you sent the contract in and took the money."

Reports are rapper Fetty Wap stepped in to cover the event.

This incident hardly marks the first time Brown has been accused of being homophobic. Back in 2010, he got into a heated argument with former B2K singer Raz B after he tweeted praise for Brown's ex Rihanna and actress Halle Berry by taking a dig at Brown and singer Eric Benet.

"I'm just sittin here thinking how can ni*** like Eric Benet and Chris Brown disrespect women as intelligent as Halle Berry, Rihanna," Raz wrote.

Chris Brown angrily responded by tweeting, "N-you want attention! Grow up n****!!! Di-in da booty ass lil boy."
