Immersing one's self in an action-packed video game is an enjoying feat on its own. What is more fulfilling though is knowing thousands more share the same interest.

The more popular the game is, the more likely it is for gamers to have more multiplayer options, group discussions and gaming friends.

PS4 gamers wanting to be a part of the trendiest gaming titles on the market today shouldn't fret.

Sony recently revealed the PlayStation Store latest list of the most downloaded PS4 gaming titles. The list should give uninitiated PS4 gamers an idea of what games to pursue next.

According to PlayStation's official blog site, the following are the top twenty downloads of August 2015.

1.     "Madden NFL 16"

2.     "Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist"

3.     "Rocket League"

4.     "Until Dawn"

5.     "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture"

6.     "Goat Simulator"

7.     "Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition"

8.     "Need for Speed Rivals"

9.     "Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment"

10.   "Gauntlet: Slayer Edition"

11.   "Grand Theft Auto V"

12.   "Journey"

13.   "Batman: Arkham Knight"

14.   "Mega Man Legacy Collection"

15.   "How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition"

16.   "The Walking Dead: Season Two"

17.   "Kung Fury: Street Rage"

18.   "Grim Fandango Remastered"

19.   "OUTLAST"

20.   "Hotline Miami"

"Madden NFL 16" was released on Aug. 25 but it isn't shocking why EA Sports' next-generation football flagship sits atop of the leader board.

Apart from its improve throw and catch mechanics, decision-making will be a big part of the game as AI are more receptive this time around. For instance, overusing the accurate catch feature will eventually leave the receiver more vulnerable to big hits.

What is surprising though is the appearance of "Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist" and "Rocket League" on the top five. Who would have thought creatures from dueling cards were still a thing in 2015? Moreover, who could have predicted that the marriage between soccer and cars would turn out to be such a smash hit?

Rounding out the top five is a pair of instant favorites.

"Until Dawn" demands a lot of thinking for gamers since each move they take will have serious and sometimes deadly aftereffects. If you think it's a puzzle game, you are gravely mistaken. It's a tension-filled horror survival game perfect for late-night shrieks with friends.

Gamers looking for a spiritual experience should check out "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture." The title is a story-based mystery bundled in a first-person adventure game.

The other PS4 games in the top 20 are mostly the latest installments from established gaming franchises. Gamers can expect wide fanbases from "Grand Theft Auto V," "Batman: Arkham Knight," "Need for Speed Rivals," "How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition" and "The Walking Dead: Season Two."
