MasterChef US Season 6 two-hour finale titled "Team Gordon Ramsay; The Finale" has crowned a new champion. The top three contestants competed in the first hour by creating dishes for 30 restaurant guests who are close to the three judges, wherein the winner will automatically be in the final two.

For the first challenge, Derrick, Stephen and Claudia had help from Hetal, Tommy and Katrina as sous-chef, respectively, as retold by Celeb Dirty Laundry. Gordon said that they have only 75 minutes to prepare and plate their restaurant-quality entrées.

Derrick made some miso black cod, daikon purée and sautéed bok choy while Stephen prepared pan-seared scallops with rutabaga, beets and asparagus with nut sauce and added truffles. Claudia presented grilled octopus with frisée salad and oregano potatoes.

The guests liked Stephen's and Derrick's dishes while Claudia's squid was also greeted with good reviews; however, some did not like the potatoes. After the vote, Derrick was announced as the winner. The pressure test for the bottom two involves Christina's cheese soufflé, Graham Eliot's steak frites and Gordon Ramsay's panna cotta with raspberry coulis.

Christina liked Claudia's soufflé but said that Stephen had the better seasoning. Graham then tasted their steak frites and loved both the steak but the fries were difficult to judge as Stephen's fries were crispier but Claudia has the better seasoning.

Finally, Gordon tried their panna cotta and thinks that Stephen's has a nice texture while Claudia had better filling technique. Gordon announces Claudia as the winner and Stephen predicts she will beat Derrick in the finale.

In the finale, as their families are present, Claudia and Derrick compete in a three-course challenge to see who will take home $250,000. Derrick first served his spiced pork belly with watermelon and the three judges loved his dish. Claudia brings out her appetizer, huitlacoche tamale with avocado crème and the judges also loved it.

For the entrées, Derrick made some pan-seared venison with root vegetables, huckleberry sauce and a pastry cage while Claudia presented grilled swordfish with Mexican squash, chickpeas and salsa verde. All three judges were blown away by the entrées and it seems that the final decision all comes down to the dessert.

Derrick prepared green tea cake and chocolate crust while Claudia made poached pear and cinnamon brittle. All three judges also loved their desserts, but they all agreed that Claudia is the winner as she knows how to use everyday ingredients like a real chef.
