So what does it take for men and women in love to break up all of a sudden? Technology. Katy Perry and John Mayer likewise have become the victims of today's advancement, as everything inevitably falls apart after the "Dark Horse" singer allegedly discovers text messages from another woman on her boyfriend's mobile phone.

Despite their previous engagement rumors, Perry made a difficult decision to call it quits to her nearly two-year-long relationship with Mayer earlier this week after discovering "text messages on John's phone from some random girl." The latest claim disagrees with the previous reports that the singer couple's split was "mutual and extremely amicable," and that they were even planning to stay friends after their break up.

Although all these reports are currently surrounding his personal life, it seems that the "Your Body Is A Wonderland" singer is not really affected nor concerned about the recent split, as he attended a show by renowned pianist Chick Corea at the Blue Note Jazz Club in Greenwich Village on Wednesday night. John Mayer shared a video of the night via Twitter with a caption following, "Helluva night." He also stayed at the venue until the next morning, with the people at the club claiming he looked "worry-free" as he partied hard throughout the evening.

It is not the first time the pair has broken up since they started dating back in 2012, as Perry and Mayer had a brief split in March before reconciling later. However, a source claimed that this time, it is for real: "They've had rough patches, but this may be for good."
