Following rumors that her character on "Lo Imperdonable" may not make it to the finale, actress Ana Brenda Contreras made it clear, in a recent interview, that she is not leaving the telenovela unless she wants to.

According to Radio Fórmula, the actress isn't going to leave the telenovela despite rumors that the show's producer Salvador Mejía planned on killing her character, Verónica.

"The only thing I can say is for people to just watch the novela," said Contreras. "I find it really funny, the controversy of whether someone will die in a novela."

Fans speculated that a car accident in the telenovela would lead to her character's death and thus remove Contreras from the telenovela, but the actress is putting that rumor to rest.

"If I leave a novela it is because I want to leave, not because they take me out," said Contreras. "I go and do my job, I don't decide the story. The truth is that I enjoy myself a lot and I think it's funny that there is a lot of controversy."

Whether she would continue to be a part of the telenovela is not the only rumor Contreras has had to deal with. Like many actors who have great chemistry with a costar, the 28-year-old actress has seen her share of drama and media speculation surrounding her relationship with actor Iván Sánchez, who plays Martín San Telmo.

The star insisted that she and Sánchez, who is married to Elia Galera, are just friends, reported El Cinco. Both actors were frustrated because, instead of attributing their chemistry to their skills as actors, many believed the gossip.

Up next for the Mexican actress, who recently finalized her divorce from actor Alejandro Amaya, is a musical project that includes touring.
