It's no secret that when Season 2 of "Finding Carter" resumes, Carter (Kathryn Prescott) will be meeting a new love interest, played by Jackson Rathbone, but in a recent interview the show's executive producer revealed a lot more details about the upcoming romance.

Series front-runner Emily Whitesell revealed besides a lot of family drama, Carter will have face new experiences when it comes to her love life in Season 2, reported Hollywood Life.

"Carters love life is gonna get very complicated this season. She's been in love with Crash (Caleb Ruminer), but he's going off to live his own life and she's trying to find her own and pushing herself ahead, in terms of who she is and what she wants," Whitesell said.

In August, it was announced "Twilight" star Jackson Rathbone was cast in a recurring role and would be playing a character by the name of Jared who will become attracted to Carter.

Carter will reportedly meet Jared while working at a bar, something she does in secret, and will lead the two on a very "steamy romance."

However, Jared, at 25, is much older than Carter who is still in high school. Whitesell revealed Carter will not be revealing her age to Jared at first and even after he does find out the two will find a way to make it work.

"He's older, sexy, and he has great advice -- he is the guy who has done exactly what she's looking for: he's figured out who he is, and he owns this fantastic bar and it's such a joy for her to be there every day," Whitesell said. "She feels really free, like she's really growing up, and he's a big part of that."

The second half of Season 2 of "Finding Carter" will return to MTV on Oct. 6. Check out the trailer below.
