International Boxing Federation middleweight champion David Lemieux is confident that he'll beat the World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organization king Gennady "Triple G" Golovkin when they clash in their unification battle on Oct. 17 at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Lemieux (34-2, 3 KOs), who posts an 86 percent knockout rating per BoxRec, is not afraid of the unbeaten Kazakh warrior, who is also a knockout artist with a 91 percent KO rating, according to the same site. What actually fuels the Canadian boxer's confidence are his losses, noted Boxing Scene.

"You know the losses that occurred in the past made me realize a lot of things and I guess it depends on how you react to adversity in life some people it breaks them and others it makes them. Champions are made I guess in these trying moments and I can certainly say I've had them like they say the best way to learn is from your own experiences," Lemieux said.

The IBF champ also claims, per a separate Boxing Scene report, that he will shock the world when the two of them meet on the ring, making him the "new most feared man" after the fight. According to him, he will deliver Golovkin's first loss in his professional career.

Even the Golden Boy Promotions head Oscar De La Hoya feels his fighter will emerge as the victor with three championship crowns after the bout. The boxer-turned-promoter predicted confidently that Lemieux will win with style as he will put down the mighty Kazakh, per another report from the same site.

Team Golovkin's say

Golovkin's trainer, Abel Sanchez, didn't appear bothered with Lemieux's claims. On his recent interview with Fight Hype, the boxing coach even wanted the Canadian boxer to come out and prove everything he was saying so that he himself could see an explosive fight.

"I hope that it's the kind of fight that we all expect...I hope that David does what he says he's going to do...I think we'll be treated to a great fight," the world-class trainer said.

"GGG" also commented that he is prepared for his showdown against Lemieux, another article from the same Boxing News informed. He is even ready to for the punching power of his immediate opponent, especially since he has already faced these kinds of fighters in the past, Golovkin said. The undefeated warrior also devised ways of using the combination of "timing and distance to attack at the right time" so that he will not be hit by his challenger.
