The premiere for season two of "iZombie" gave its viewers interesting twists. Here are the highlights of the episode titled, "Grumpy Old Liv."

Evan survived

The show resolved the cliffhanger last season — "Will Liv Moore's (Rose McIver), brother, Evan (Nick Purcha) live?" In the finale, Evan was in the Meat Cute shop when it was blown by Lieutenant Suzuki (Hiro Kanagawa). Despite his critical condition, Liv refused to donate blood when the doctor advised the family members to do so.

Fortunately, Evan survived, but Liv's action made her family angry with her, Comic Book noted.

Blaine's new business

It seems Blaine (David Anders) is really not cut to be a good guy, making a Liv and Blaine romance impossible, noted TV Fanatic. Even though Blaine was injected by Liv last season with the cure discovered by Dr. Ravi (Rahul Kohli) to turn him into human again, he is still into selling brains to zombie clients through his funeral home business, per Comic Book. He also has lots of utopium, which indicates that he will still turn normal humans to zombies soon. Thus, he is still back in his evil ways.

The cure's side effect and Major's new mission

Both Liv's ex-fiance, Major (Robert Buckley) and Blaine have experienced the side effect of the cure. It is actually more of an ability added to them, as both already have some zombie radar built within them. Blaine could use it to get new prospects for his business while Major is going to use it for his new mission he reluctantly just committed himself into. He will now be killing zombies in Seattle, as directed by the Max Rager's executive Vaughn Du Clark (Steven Weber), or else, Liv's life will be in danger.

Clive's investigating the Meat Cute case

Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) is digging deeper into the Meat Cute case and looking into Major's involvement in it. With Major's new duty of eliminating zombies, he could be in bigger trouble.

New roommate in

Peyton (Aly Michalka) did not appear in the episode aired on Oct. 6, and a new roommate whom Liv reportedly does not like is in. The roommate named Gilda, per TV Fanatic, is actually a spy from the Max Rager company.

The episode definitely brings new possibilities into the show with every character's life getting more interesting, including Liv, whose portrayal of a short-tempered old man is impressive.

For episode 2, TV Line featured some photos hinting romance between Major and Liv. She will also acquire a brain from a murder victim who has a distinct fashion sense. Fans will see Liv wearing dresses and putting make-up more often next episode.
