Following the successful hack of Air Force One's computer system and the high alert during the premiere episode for Season 2 of "Madam Secretary," tension rides high in Episode 2, as a shocking kidnapping in Afghanistan tests Elizabeth McCord's allegiances (Téa Leoni).

There is no doubt that McCord's final words on the last episode, "That was an act of war," will be the running theme for the entire season. In the second episode, titled "The Doability Doctrine," she must fight against all odds to rescue a State Department official taken hostage in Afghanistan, according to Spoilers Guide.

But getting her personnel back safely means that she must contend with conflicting advice from President Dalton (Keith Carradine) and former Secretary Madeleine Albright (herself).

Albright will be playing a fictitious version of herself in the episode, and she will be given her due respect when McCord follows her advice over that of her president.

This will, of course, put McCord at odds with the president and make for some nasty fallout between them. Nevertheless, McCord's goal is to get her government official back safely, no matter the consequences.

Meanwhile, another story that started in the premiere episode follows Henry McCord (Tim Daly), as he spies on one of his students who is suspected of harboring some anti-American sentiment. Henry must now take his new mission one step further, recruiting the young student into spying for the Americans, but he has little luck.

The prospect of war is looming over the season, and fans can expect there to be some major revelations in the next few episodes.

Episode 2 will air on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 8:30 p.m. ET, according to TV Guide
