Victor Valdes' days at Old Trafford is numbered, as his agent confirmed that the goalkeeper will leave Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Player agent Gines Carvajal told Marca that Valdes has no other choice but to leave Manchester United because he is not getting opportunities at Old Trafford.

Valdes is being linked to several clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle, Sevilla and Besiktas. While Carvajal knows that his client will be on the move in January, they are still unsure where the former Barcelona goalkeeper will land, but he is quite convinced that Valdes will not return to Spain.

"I am sure about this," Carvajal said of Valdes' transfer in January via ESPN FC. "It is obvious he must leave in January, and we are looking to find a move that he likes. My personal opinion is it won't be Spain, unless he says something different."

Previous reports indicated that Valdes was on his way to Besiktas during the summer transfer window but the proposed deal did not materialize. According to BBC, the deal collapsed after Besiktas tried to change the terms of the original deal.

Valdes was mentioned in numerous transfer rumors during the offseason after he had a falling out with Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal. The Dutch manager, who coached Valdes at Barcelona before, said that he decided to reunite with the goalkeeper, thinking that he will be a good fit to the Red Devils.

However, Van Gaal blasted Valdes earlier this year and said that the Spaniard has no place at Old Trafford because he refused to follow his coaching philosophy. He pointed out that Valdes refused to play for the club's under-21 team without any valid reason.

"We thought he would follow our philosophy but it is a pity because we have given an opportunity to rehabilitate and then we gave a contract," Van Gaal said of Valdes via ESPN FC. "Then when he is fit to play and when you are not playing in the first selection you have to play in the second selection. He refused that."

Valdes, who is still in contract with the Red Devils until after the current the season, helped FC Barcelona win three Champions League crowns, six Spanish La Liga titles and three Spanish Cup crowns during his 12-year stay at Camp Nou. He was also a part of the Spanish national team that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and 2012 European title.
