It's official: "Star Trek Beyond" has finished production.

The third installment to the most recent "Star Trek" movie series has been one of the most secretive productions in years with little details revealed about the actual film. However, on-set pictures have leaked thanks to onlookers. A number of pictures were leaked on Instagram by many fans.

The first post is a video of an extra dressed in a weird alien costume being escorted to to the set of the film.

The second picture also includes more aliens and it looks like it is set around the Starfleet Academy in San Francisco.

Then there are three pictures from the same exact user and they show extras dressed up in alien costumes. It is not clear what the context is for the pictures and it definitely does not show any of the principal actors. However, what is clear is that the film will continue to introduce new worlds into the franchise.

"Star Trek Beyond" is one of the most anticipated films of next year and was directed by Justin Lin, who is behind the last two installments of "Fast and Furious." The film will see Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Simon Pegg and Anton Yelchin return to their roles in the franchise. Meanwhile, Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella are new to the cast.

The third installment comes on the heels of the success of "Star Trek," which was released in 2009 and won an Oscar and went on to be a critical and box office hit. It also comes after 2013's "Star Trek Into Darkness." That film was also a critical success and was also nominated for an Oscar. However, the film did not perform as well at the box office and received a lot of backlash.

"Star Trek Beyond" will open on July 22, 2016.
