We all love football, but we hate injuries. Unfortunately, injuries are part of the game. This week there are quite a few notable players who are injured. Let's dig a little deeper and checkout the status of some of the prominent injuries heading into this weekend.

Dez Bryant

Dez Bryant hasn't played since Week 1 against the New York Giants when he broke his foot. The Dallas Cowboys will take on the Giants again this weekend. Bryant would love to play in this one. According to league reports, Bryant is improving big time with deep cuts and is participating in practice this weeks. His status remains "questionable" for Sunday's game.

Victor Cruz

It feels like every week Victor Cruz is "close to coming back." Giants fans shouldn't get their hopes up. Cruz has not been cleared to practice, and it is "unlikely" that he will play against the Cowboys. Cruz is still nursing a patellar tear, and he hasn't played in a single game this season. He only played in six games all of last season.

Dion Lewis

One of the biggest surprises this season has been New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis. Lewis is playing very well, but he has been limited this week at practice with an abdomen injury. It looks like he is going to play against the New York Jets on Sunday. Brandon LaFell may actually be on the field for the first time this season. Because it is now Week 7, he is allowed to come off the PUP list via coaches decision. When asked about LaFell playing this weekend, Bill Belichick said, "We'll see."

Tyrod Taylor

The Buffalo Bills are hurting right now. They haven't won consecutive games all season long, and now they have lost their quarterback for some time. Tyrod Taylor will not be playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend. To make matters worse, wide receiver Sammy Watkins has also been ruled out with an ankle injury he suffered last week.

Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota has a sprained MCL which was suffered against the Mimi Dolphins last week in a controversial low hit. He has been missing practice all week, and more than likely he will not be playing this weekend against the Atlanta Falcons. As of now, Mariota is listed as questionable. It should be noted however, that Mariota had a very similar injury in college at Oregon, and he was able to play through that. It is possible that we could see Mariota playing this weekend with a brace on.

Greg Hardy

Greg Hardy had a great game in his debut against the Patriots in Week 5, but he has been missing practices this week because of an illness. The Cowboys need his pass rush to stop their three game losing streak. All signs point to Hardy playing on Sunday despite missing practice.

Steve Smith

Steve Smith has been getting a little banged up this year, but the Baltimore Ravens wide receiver will be on the field on Monday. He missed the Week 5 game against the Cleveland Browns with a back injury, but he is not even listed on the Ravens injury report for this week.

Larry Fitzgerald

Larry Fitzgerald did not practice on Thursday. Don't worry Arizona Cardinals fans, Fitzgerald was given a veteran day off. He will be playing on Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens.
