After a promising 2-0 start, things haven't looked very good for the Dallas Cowboys.

They've lost four games in a row, and are now in last place in the NFC East. The Cowboys have been in complete disarray without Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, and things just keep getting worse. News broke yesterday that running back Joseph Randle will not be playing in the team's next game because he violated the personal conduct policy, and he could even be suspended.

Tony Romo is not eligible to play until Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins per short term IR rules.

In all honesty, the Cowboys defense hasn't been terrible. The secondary has been making huge improvements, and with the addition of Greg Hardy, the Cowboys pass rush is starting to become a threat. But, there's the offense, which has been offensive at times. The Cowboys have switched between Matt Cassel and Brandon Weeden only to come away winless. Opposing teams are stacking the box knowing the Cowboys don't have any real deep threat in the passing game.

By far the Cowboys two biggest disappointments have been Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley, who have a combined two touchdown grabs this season. Williams isn't getting open downfield, and he's dropping critical balls for potential first downs. This is a very significant time for Williams. He is still in his rookie contract, and this is his time to show off his talents as the No. 1 wide out without Bryant on the field. So far, not so good. As for Beasley, the Cowboys need to use him more in the slot area rather than down field go routes.

Now 2-4, the Cowboys are down, but barely still in the NFC East race. The New York Giants have won four of their last five games and are in first place in the division. The Philadelphia Eagles haven't looked impressive at all, but they do hold a one win advantage in the division over the Cowboys. Even the Washington Redskins have one more victory than the Cowboys at the moment.

Things won't get much easier in the near future for Jason Garrett's squad. They have to play the Seattle Seahawks this weekend.

Not having Romo has been a huge burden, but it can't play out as an excuse. The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't have Ben Roethlisberger for four games, and they managed to go 2-2. Mike Tomlin was able to go .500 without his starting quarterback whereas Garret can't even win a game. We all remember Bill Belichick going 11-5 in 2008 without Tom Brady with the Patriots. That's what separates the good coaches from the great ones.

Thankfully for the Cowboys, they play in a weak division and there are still 10 games remaining this year. There's plenty of time, but time is becoming limited for "America's Team." If they can just weather this injury storm before Romo returns, they still have a chance at winning the division for a second consecutive year.
