David Wright and Noah Syndergaard lead the New York Mets in Game 3 of the World Series to defeat the Kansas City Royals 9-3 in New York. Wright, the Mets captain, had two hits with four RBIs and a home run while the rookie Noah "Thor" Syndergaard pitched six solid innings, allowing six hits, three runs, two walks with six strikeouts, per ESPN.

The 32-year-old third baseman hit his first postseason home run since Game 4 of the 2006 NLCS. According to CBS Sports, Wright launched a 385-foot, two-run home run that left the bat at 103 mph to put the Mets in the lead 2-1 in the first inning. He hit it against Royals starter Yordano Ventura, who only pitched for 3.1 innings, allowing seven hits, five runs, two home runs with only one strikeout.

In the live score by The Guardian, Ben Zobrist hit a double in the first inning for the first man on base of Game 3. Eric Hosmer drives a run on a chopper to give the Royals the 1-0 lead to start the game. An error by Zobrist set up David Wright's two-run home run off Ventura to give the Mets a 2-1 lead.

Kansas City started the second inning with three straight hits to tie the game at two apiece. A throwing error by Syndergaard to catcher Travis d'Arnaud gives the Royals a 3-2 lead. In the third inning, "Thor" hit a leadoff single to become the first pitcher in the series to reach base.

Curtis Granderson followed it up with a huge two-run home run to put the Mets back up again, 4-3. Syndergaard finally settled down, as he retired three straight Royals hitter in just 11 pitches at the top of the fourth.

The Mets chased Ventura in the bottom of the fourth after allowing three hits and another run to lead 5-3. Raul A. Mondesi came on as a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning to make his major league debut. According to Yahoo! Sports, the 20-year-old shortstop became the first player in MLB history to make his big league debut in the World Series.

New York scored four more runs in the sixth inning to make the score 9-3. Juan Uribe hit an RBI single to start the scoring, followed by Wright's two-run single to score Uribe and Granderson. Yoenis Cespedes hit a sac fly to left field for the fourth run of the inning.

Closer Jeurys Familia induced a groundball out to Kendrys Morales to end the game. Left-handed rookie and New York-native Steven Matz will try to help the Mets tie the series against former Met Chris Young in Game 4 of the World Series, per MLB.com.
