In a recent interview, Fifth Harmony's Dinah-Jane Hansen revealed new details about the group's upcoming sophomore album, including a few possible collaborations.

According to an interview with Spin magazine, the pop group's upcoming album will be more mature than their first, including writing from Hansen and Lauren Jauregui.

"We're going with that kind of sound in a way that feels like a great transition for us," Hansen said. "At the end of the day, we'll have these little writing sessions in the studio. We're writing [about] our own experiences about love and everything, stuff that's actually what's going on right now. We're all 18, 19, 22, so a lot is going on in our lives. We're just happy that we get to finally have a say now with what we want and the direction that we want. We're hoping that the audience can tell."

This time around, the five singers will have a lot more to say about what songs become singles, as well as the image they put out. Hansen said fans need to see that they "aren't always going to be bubbly, happy girls" and that they are "real women too."

The group also revealed that the more mature sound will come with a few possible collaborations with some really big musical acts, including Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, J. Cole and Travi$ Scott.

"For one of the Max Martin songs we finished, we could totally hear her on this one part," Hansen said about possibly working with Minaj.

Additional collaborators could help the group infuse their music and band culture with a bit more of an urban vibe.

"We just have smashes, one after the other," Hansen said. "This lane we're going with is kind of reggae-rhythmic and kind of urban. It finally includes our ethnicity -- I'm Polynesian. We have a black girl. We've got Hispanics. We kind of got that island in us, that little flavor in there. We love including that because that's what we are."

According to MTV, fans can expect a brand new single from the group very soon, as they plan to release their second album in early 2016.
