AT&T recently announced that it will be accepting pre-orders for two new smartwatches starting Nov. 6. These are the Samsung Gear S2 and the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE.

According to the carrier's official blog site, the Samsung Gear S2 that AT&T will be offering is a 4G HSDPA+ version of the regular S2 that released in the U.S. last month.

4G HSPA+ or also known as Evolved High-Speed Packet Access is an overclocked version of HSUPA and HSDPA 3G standards. Its speeds are equal to the newer LTE networks. Theoretically, 4G HSPA+ reaches download speeds up to 168 Mbps and uplink speeds over 22 Mbps, per Android Authority.

Aside from that, the AT&T Gear S2 will have the usual 1.2-inch circular 360x360 AMOLED display, rotating bezel, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of native storage and a 300 mAh dry cell. The Tizen OS is pre-installed.

"We're still in the infancy of smartwatches, where companies are attempting different ideas, trying new things, and learning lessons all along the way, " said tech reviewer Dan Seifert of The Verge. "But if there's a direction I'd like to see the industry go, it's the path Samsung has set forth with the Gear S2: easy-to-use smartwatches that both look good and function well.

The AT&T Gear S2 will be delivered as well as released on Nov. 20. It will cost $200 on contract or approximately $15 a month for 20 months with an Installment Plan from AT&T

Meanwhile, the aptly albeit verbosely named LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE flaunts LTE connectivity and the Android Wear OS.

Google's Android Wear is the first dedicated smartwatch platform based on the Android operating system for mobile devices. Android Wear hosts a ton of customization and interactive features, but its primary focus is on time- and notification-telling, Wareable reported.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE first saw the light of day last month towing a 1.38-inch 480x480 POLED circular display, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of native storage and a 570 mAh dry cell.

The Android Wear smartwatch will have the same price and plan contract as the Samsung Gear S2.

Both the Gear S2 and Watch Urbane 2nd Edition have support for cellular connectivity. This means the pair will be the first smartwatches to be compatible with AT&T's NumberSync. The feature lets owners sync their mobile numbers with their smartwatches so that the latter can take or receive calls or text messages in the former's behalf. NumberSync is expected to be available in early 2016.
