Shortly after the release of "Titanfall" for the Xbox One and PC last March 11, game developer giant Electronic Arts (EA) has finalized the deal to publish the sequel to the multiplayer first-person shooter game.

Polygon's sources have also learned about rumors regarding the game's exclusivity for the Microsoft gaming consoles. Specifically, "Titanfall 2" may be available for the PlayStation platforms as well.

However, it seems EA is keeping a tight lid on the rumor because when asked to comment on it, an EA representative responded, "We do not comment on rumor or speculation. Right now all our focus is on supporting all the fans worldwide enjoying 'Titanfall'."

In October of last year, months before the release of "Titanfall", Vince Zampanella, founder of Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind the game, tweeted that the highly anticipated shooter will only be available for Microsoft platforms.

However, he later on clarified that his company will eventually start developing games for the PlayStation platforms, implying that "Titanfall's" exclusivity only applies to the first game.

Although details of what EA will do with the sequel of "Titanfall" have not yet been revealed, Blake Jorgensen, the company's CFO, reiterated Zampanella's previous statement, according to Gamespot.

Back in November, Jorgenses said, "I'm sure that there will be future 'Titanfalls' at some point that may be on multiple product platforms. [I] don't know, that's up to the teams that are going through that now. But at the end of the day, we're excited about this 'Titanfall' and we think it will be a big title and it will be great for Xbox One."

"Titanfall" was officially launched on Tuesday of last week for the PC and the Xbox One consoles. Originally, the Xbox 360 version was supposed to be released on the same date but was bumped to March 28 instead.

But then, it was delayed once more as EA announced that Xbox 360 players can get their hands on the game on April 8, according to another article by Gamespot. Executive Patrick Soderlund said in a statement, "I want to update everyone on 'Titanfall' for Xbox 360 in development with Bluepoint Games. I've been playing the game a lot, and it is fantastic."

He continued, "But we see a few things that can be made even better, so we're giving Bluepoint a little more time to do just that and deliver an epic 'Titanfall' experience for Xbox 360 players. 'Titanfall' for Xbox 360 will now be releasing on April 8 in North America, and beginning on April 11 in Europe. The game will feature the same 6v6 gameplay, maps, modes, weapons and Burn Cards as the Xbox One and PC versions of the game."
