The parade will be the first of a few holiday-related events for Carey, who will also be performing several shows in New York as part of her "All I Want For Christmas Is You New York" concerts at the Beacon Theater on Dec. 8, 9, 14, 15 and 17.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the singer discussed her upcoming directorial debut "A Christmas Melody." The film will premiere on the Hallmark Channel and will air in December.

The music icon, often referred to as a diva, also discussed her reputation. She surprisingly revealed that she plans on continuing her diva behavior and doesn't see anything wrong with it.

"I'm still always going to be a diva in certain ways, and I don't mean that in the bad sense of the word," she said. "I just mean, like, if there's a makeup artist there and they don't mind touching me up while I'm directing."
