As Marcos Maidana prepares for his unification bout against Floyd Mayweather on May 3, the Argentine boxer weighs in on the skill and strength of his unbeaten opponent.

According to BoxingScene, Maidana said that unlike Floyd's previous opponents, he will be entering the ring as a fearless boxer. He said, "I am going to train well, I am going to go out there and fight without fear and without respecting him."

He added, "There are many boxers that when they are in the ring with Floyd, they are afraid. He is not going to intimidate me. I want to beat him. Canelo Alvarez did not go after him. He didn't do anything and allowed [Mayweather] to work."

"I always go out to press my rival, to corner him and to unload my punches, and with Mayweather I am going to do the same," the Argentine fighter continued."

Before his fight with Mayweather, Maidana went toe-to-toe against Adrien Broner last Dec. 14. His impressive win against the American boxer is what gives him the confidence to face-off against Mayweather in the ring. According to him, Floyd is a weaker fighter than Broner.

He said, "I believe that Mayweather is not as strong as Broner. He is a better boxer [than Broner] but I think that he is not as strong. I believe that, because [during out fight] Broner felt very strong and I do not see Mayweather being [strong] like that."

He continued, "Also, Mayweather often goes against the ropes and that's where he's in danger [of getting hit with punches]."

Aside from the strength factor, Maidana will also be relying on his speed to dominate the Money. His trainer, Robert Garcia commented that he has prepared his fighter to throw a hundred punches per round to overwhelm Floyd.

He said, "[Maidan is] going to fight dirty, tough and strong. [Mayweather is] very defensive and doesn't throw a lot of punches. With Maidana, I will prepare him to throw 100 punches per round. Winning won't be easy, but nothing is impossible."
