Television star Nathaniel Marston died Wednesday after two weeks of spending time at the Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. The "One Life to Live" star sustained critical injuries after a car crash that happened in October.

Marston was 40 years old and while investigations are still ongoing to identify the specific cause and manner of his death, Philly reports that the Washoe County Medical Examiner and Coroner's Office confirmed his death after experiencing being thrown out of his car on Oct. 30 at State Route 447 near the tiny town of Nixon, the Nevada Highway Patrol confirmed.

According to Philly, the ABC actor was driving from Gerlach in a 1985 Ford F-150 truck until it drifted across the lane and even overturned several times landing on the shoulder. Furthermore, Marston was not wearing his seatbelt at that time, causing him to be flown out of his car.

The actor from the "One Life to Live" series, which ran from 2001 to 2007, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital to stay there for two weeks and, unfortunately, lose his life, Philly reports. Marston's mother, Elizabeth Jackson, confirmed her son's death in a statement posted on Facebook.

"Dear family and friends, it is with a heavy heart that I share this devastating news. My beloved and cherished son, Nathaniel Marston, who was putting up the good fight until last night was not able to continue due to the traumatic and devastating nature of his injuries," Jackson wrote on Nov. 11 on her Facebook.

Jackson further revealed that Marston had a peaceful death and was surrounded by family and friends. "Nathaniel passed away peacefully as I held him in my arms. Father William, myself and his second Mommy Lisa, and our dear friend Charlotte were by his bedside, he was not alone. His injuries, which Dr.'s did their best to heal were not responding to treatment and one after another his bodily functions failed to support his life," Jackson continued.

Apparently, the actor's health condition was not in a good position and in case he survived the accident, he would have lived a life as a quadriplegic and would need a ventilator all throughout his life, Jackson revealed on her post.

Funeral arrangements will be made for a memorial service in New York City, NY, Kauai, HI and Gerlach, NV, Jackson shared while the specific dates will follow. Marston was born in Torrington, Conn., on July 9, 1975, the New York Times reported.

The actor also starred in the 1996 television series "Matt Waters" and landed roles in films like "The Craft" and "Love Is All There Is."
