Mexican-American pop singer Becky G has several career goals, including becoming music's next Jennifer Lopez.

In an interview with the Miami New Times, the "You Love It" singer explained why she wants a career like Lopez's, highlighted by millions of records sold, countless films, sold out tours and fashion icon status.

"Doesn't every Latina want to be the next J. Lo? J. Lo has always been my idol. I could only hope to be blessed like she has been in her career. I've been lucky enough to have met her and she is a wonderful person," the young singer said.

The teen, who is currently working on her debut album, said that she looks up to Lopez because she is a powerful and strong woman who does it all.

"I admire her in many ways. She is a very powerful woman who has worked her ass off. She has proven herself in so many ways. A singer, actress, business woman, mother, cultural leader to many. She is Jenny from the block but also Jenny that don't stop! She is about her business and is successful at it," Becky G added.

Both Lopez and Becky G performed at the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina hosted on Nov. 7, but that wasn't the first time that the young singer met the international superstar.

The 18-year-old also explained that when she first met the Bronx-native, she found Lopez breathtaking. Her favorite moment from her encounter with Lopez was hearing the superstar laugh.

"Her laugh is so unique and memorable," Becky G said.

The pop singer is already following in the Latin superstar's steps. Besides a music career of her own, Becky G is already earning acting credits with her well-received guest starring role on Season 2 of "Empire" and a lead role in the upcoming "Power Rangers" movie.

The teenager is also emulating Lopez's fashion sense on stage with her performance wardrobe. Like Lopez, Becky G tends to perform in sequined leotards and wears baseball caps on stage to add a bit of urban flare to her glamorous wardrobe.
