Rumors recently circulated claiming that Colombian singer Shakira and partner Gerard Pique were being blackmailed by a former employee for an alleged sex tape. Recent reports now claim that the two are denying the rumors.

Shakira and Pique, who have two children Milan, 2, and Sasha, 11 months, have been in the middle of controversies claiming that they have a homemade sex tape and their former employee is now asking for money in return for keeping the video private.

There were no specific details released, but the Mirror reported that the alleged former employee was demanding a "huge sum of money" from the couple, who were in the rumored tape engaging in "sexual acts."

TMZ reported that the couple had already denied previous claims by multiple news agencies through a representative. Both reportedly denied that there was even any blackmailing that happened between them and a former employee.

Diario Vasco first reported the news of Shakira and Pique. However, until now, there is still no proof that there has been anything malicious going on between the couple and an alleged former employee.

The news comes after another blackmailing rumor between Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and his French teammate Mathieu Valbuena over another alleged sex tape, Fox News Latino reports.

The Daily Mail further reported that Benzema was arrested by judicial police in Versailles in West Paris, despite his denial through his lawyers that he didn't participate in any attempt to extort money from his teammate.

Since blackmail is punishable by a jail term in Spanish law, after the arrest, Benzema, if found guilty of complicity in the alleged blackmail, might face at least five years in prison, the Daily Mail reports.

Meanwhile, the couple has remained silent throughout all the circulating rumors and hasn't officially released any statements regarding the matter.

Shakira and Pique met back in 2010 during the singer's promotion for "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)," which was the theme song for the FIFA World Cup back then.

This was not the first time that a celebrity was affiliated with rumors regarding a sex tape. Previously, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian West also had troubles with a circulating sex tape with then-boyfriend Ray J.

Other stars like Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson as well as Paris Hilton and Rick Salomon also had their fair share of sex tape rumors, the Mirror reports.
