Jane and Rafael will conduct an extensive search for the perfect nanny for their son, while Rafael will join the Villanueva women for an intense Black Friday shopping experience in the next episode of "Jane the Virgin."

A synopsis for Monday's episode, "Chapter Twenty Nine," reveals that Jane will go to great lengths to find a babysitter that she can trust to take care of her son, Mateo. She will also struggle to find a writing mentor at her graduate school.

"Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) interview potential babysitters to help take some of the pressure off everyone, but Jane has specific and lengthy requirements. Jane attends her graduate school's Christmas party in hopes of finding the perfect writing advisor, but things don't go quite as planned. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) is faced with a tough decision about the direction of his life. Petra (Yael Grobglas) wants a friendship with Jane, but her mother's antics once again thwart those efforts. Meanwhile, Michael's (Brett Dier) suspicions have turned out to be true and he thinks he has discovered a lead on a possible rival to Sin Rostro," reads the synopsis, according to WWLP.

The trailer video also reveals that Rafael will get his first taste of the sport of Black Friday shopping when Jane, her mother and her grandmother allow him to tag along with them in Target.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman opened up about the upcoming holiday-themed episode, which will include both shopping and family drama.

"Well, we are a telenovela, so Black Friday means a couple different things," said the showrunner. "On the surface, it's Christmas shopping, but certain relationships come to explosive turning points, and of course Petra and Magda must deal with the aftermath of Ivan's death."

Urman went on to drop teasers about Rafael and Jane's relationship and date.

"Things are going well between Rafael and Jane at the moment and they are planning a date," Urman shares. "As for how that date goes, you'll have to wait and see!"

Meanwhile, the EP hinted that things will get exciting when Michael shares some surprising news from Mexico.

"We will definitely learn a little bit more about what happened in Mexico," she said. "We won't learn everything, but we will start to fill in gaps. I think it's fair to say people will be surprised by the events that took place."

Season 2, Episode 7 of "Jane the Virgin" will premiere on Monday, Nov. 23 on The CW.
