The Golden State Warriors matched the best start in NBA history after scoring 118-105 victory against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

The Warriors improved to 15-0 this season, tying the best start in NBA history recorded by the Washington Capitols during the 1948-49 season and the Houston Rockets during the 1993-94 season.

"It's a huge accomplishment," Warriors superstar Stephen Curry said of their 15-0 start. "Obviously, coming off a championship and taking care of business 15 straight times to start the season -- couldn't ask for a better start."

Golden State will look to set a new record on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers. And Curry said they are confident they will win in their upcoming games.

"It's kind of a quiet confidence that we don't feel like we're going to lose anytime soon," Curry said via ESPN. "The way we're playing, we can get even better."

Curry, the 2015 NBA Most Valuable Player, finished with 19 points on Sunday to go along with seven assists, four rebounds and three steals. His backcourt partner, Klay Thompson, led the team in scoring with 21 points on top of seven assists and three rebounds.

Harrison Barnes added 17 points and four assists to go along with three rebounds and three steals, while Draymond Green racked up 13 points and seven rebounds for the Warriors.

Curry said after the game that he is glad with the way they are playing -- with a lot of sense of urgency despite winning the title last season. The Warriors shot 52.8 percent from the field, including an impressive 15-for-29 clip from beyond the arc, and also assisted in 35 of their 47 field goals.

"They're the best team in the world. It's a difficult task," said Nuggets center Nikola Jokic. "In some parts of the game, we could defend them, and in other parts, no. I mean, they just need three, four minutes, and they're up by 15, so we need to play defense all the time."

Darrell Arthur led the Nuggets with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Danilo Gallinari and Will Barton added 19 points apiece. Jokic had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in 27 minutes of playing time, while rookie guard Emmanuel Mudiay racked up 17 points and eight assists.
