Is the Saul Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin fight already scheduled? Will "Triple G" face the "Canelo" in Texas in February or March?

These questions will pop in any fan's mind upon knowing that the unbeaten boxer may be fighting the World Boxing Council middleweight champion in Texas early next year.

Boxing Scene notes that there are talks that the World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation, International Boxing Organization king will be having a bout in February or March 2016 in the Lone Star State. Boxing fans know that Texas is "Canelo's" territory.

Even in June, while Alvarez and the Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto were still talking about their November fight, the Mexican warrior reportedly proposed for it to happen in Texas, per boxing news writer Steve Kim's post on Twitter.

With Alvarez now holding the coveted WBC crown, it is safe to assume that he will also push for the bout to take place in his chosen venue. After all, he may now have a stronger voice in the negotiation being the current champion as opposed to Golovkin, his mandatory challenger.

So, does this mean that the two camps are already going on with the fight?

Boxing Scene notes that "Canelo" has still not confirmed if he will face Golovkin immediately after capturing the vacant title on Nov. 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

One hurdle in sealing the deal was that the Kazakh warrior refusing to fight him at a catchweight below 160 pounds, a separate article of Boxing Scene noted.

Alvarez, on the other hand, tells Fight Hype that he is only willing to face him at 155 pounds as his body is not yet ready for 160 pounds.

Thus, the only reason the two fighters will meet in the ring soon is if Golovkin has already given his go signal to clash with "Canelo" at his preferred weight.

In an interview with four-time champion Carl Froch on Talk Sport, he said that "Triple G's" promoter Tom Loeffler rejected his proposal to fight Golovkin at 168 pounds, Boxing Scene noted.

However, the following statement from Froch is interesting:

"So if I was to come back, it would have to be for a really big fight like Gennady Golovkin, but having said that he's too small and talking about dropping down to 155-pounds to fight Canelo Alvarez," Froch said.

Did Golovkin accept to fight "Canelo" at 155 pounds?
