An excited Chloe Grace Moretz recently shared the news of being cast in a lead role for "The Little Mermaid." Now, the actress reveals that she will be starting on her underwater training for the live-action Disney film. Moretz also opens up about the plot of the anticipated flick.

Former child star and "Carrie" actress Moretz revealed that the filming for the Working Title and Universal film will soon kick off, and although the film hasn't released a premiere date, Moretz is getting ready for her underwater scenes.

Talking with E! News during the KIIS Jingle Bell last weekend, Moretz was not hesitant in spilling details for the film. "As of March I'll be doing 'The Little Mermaid,'" Moretz told the publication.

"I think it's a plethora of things. I'm excited, I'm nervous. I'm just excited to show something that I've loved for such a long time and in a different modern light," she added. Furthermore, Moretz revealed that she will have an underwater training.

"I'm going to start training underwater in about a month, so we'll see how I am on that," she said.

Meanwhile, "The Little Mermaid" is said to be interpreted in a modern way, Moretz shared with ET.

It is "a modern, revisionist tale," she revealed. "[We're] making it progressive for young women in this day and age."

It is very modern indeed since the actress revealed that the film will not be following the classic red-headed Ariel. Instead, Moretz will be blonde for the film.

The publication further revealed that Moretz excitement for snagging the role was through the roof. "When I got the call, I rolled the windows down in the car with my brother and we both screamed!" Moretz shared adding, "It was a very exciting moment!"

Moretz was very happy and even posted an Instagram photo of a Variety article back in February, writing, "Here it is !! I've been waiting months to tell everyone how excited I am to take on this beautiful journey with Working Title, Universal, and a beautiful script by Richard Curtis..#TheLittleMermaid !!!! Here we go!!!"

"The Little Mermaid," reportedly written by Richard Curtis and Moretz, will be in two films before the Disney live-action flick for "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" and the young-adult action horror "The 5th Wave," which premieres on Jan. 15, 2016, the publication reports.
