Samsung has released a hardware update to the Galaxy Note 5.

When the device was first released, some owners complained the included S-Pen stylus would get stuck when accidentally inserted into the device the wrong way. Now, Samsung has updated the hardware of the phone to make sure the stylus will not get stuck, even if it is inserted incorrectly, Android Central reports.

S-Pen Holster Causes Issues

The Galaxy Note 5 includes a doc that allows owners to insert the S-Pen right into the phone so they do not lose it after they are done using it. The S-Pen is designed to be inserted into this dock pointy side down. If owners put the S-Pen in upside down, it would get stuck on the mechanism that detects the presence of the stylus and it would be impossible to remove.

"Samsung can confirm that the Note 5 internal S Pen mechanism has been changed to avoid the issue caused by inserting the S Pen incorrectly," a Samsung spokesperson told Android Central. "As always, we recommend following proper instructions for storing the S Pen."

Updated Model Undifferentiated

Those who have a Galaxy Note 5 will not be able to tell if their phone has the updated hardware that will prevent the S-Pen from getting stuck. Because of this, Samsung wants to make sure that all Galaxy Note 5 owners know that the S-Pen needs to be inserted pointy side down.

The Galaxy Note 5 is Samsung's version of the phablet, a combination of phone and tablet. The smartphone has a large 5.7-inch screen and comes with a stylus pen so that it can be used alternatively like a tablet computer or a smartphone.

Samsung is continuing to build smartphones with large screens such as the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy S6 Plus. Samsung is expected to release a Galaxy S7 model this year, and a Plus model could be included in the lineup.
