Paul Verhoeven's 'Starship Troopers', is once again going on the floor, as a sequel named 'Starship Troopers Reboot'. The movie will be based on the original Heinlein novel of the same name. The 1959 novel had won an award for the best novel too. The Starship Troopers was first released in 1997 and got mixed reviews from the audiences and critics.

The 1997 film had a story of the soldier name Juan Rico or Johnnie who joins the infantry to save the world from aliens.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Columbia Pictures has roped Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, for writing the script of the film. Both the writers have also written the script for the upcoming Dwayne Johnson and Priyanka Chopra starrer movie 'Baywatch'. The duo had earlier worked for the movie Friday the 13th in 2009. This time the pair is approached by the studios to write the nail-biter plot for the science-fiction, action thriller. Hollywood had seen tons of war movies in the last decade and only few lucky one tasted the success.

According to some reports, the producers are working on the movie's idea since 2011. The 1997 installment had Casper Van Dien, Denise Richards and Neil Patrick Harris in lead roles.

The Verge reports that the movie should be a war movie as we already had a long list of war movies, but not every movie has done justice on war zone based genre there should be spectacular components which can hold its audience to enjoy the movie till the end. It took a lot to make a war movie a realistic one.

The movie is expected to be a big budget project. Neal H. Moritz along with Toby Jaffe will work together in the film. This pair also earlier worked with each other in 'Total Recall' remake.
