Nokia is making an entry in the world of smartphones, and 2017 will be the major year of its comeback. A couple of weeks ago, the Finnish company confirmed that it's expected to make a comeback in the smartphone arena this year.

According to University Herald, the handset maker confirmed its presence in the upcoming 2017 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February next year. And, since then there has been rumors over Nokia's Android-powered phone with the latest indication that Nokia gave it the codename D1C.

The phone might come in two models, the first one with a 5.0-inch screen and the second one with a 5.5 inch-screen. And, according to a new rumor on the matter, it's pegged that its screen size at 13.8 inches as reported by GSM Arena.

The lower-end 5-inch Nokia D1C comes with a 1080p touchscreen, 2GB RAM, a 13-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, and 16GB built-in storage. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, sporting a 1.4 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and an Adreno 505 GPU running on Android 7.0 Nougat.

The bigger 5.5-inch model will almost have the same hardware specs but will differ in a few areas. One big difference is that the bigger 5.5-inch Nokia model will have a superior 16-megapixel camera and a much bigger battery capacity.

The two models are already in the prototype testing phase, and it looks like there might be a chance of Nokia altering the specification of the hardware before finalizing the product.

Apart from the phones, Nokia is also working on its tablets and it might make its debut along with the Nokia D1C at Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona.

With regards to its pricing and release date, it's too soon to know as there have not been any updates yet.
