Fox Searchlight Pictures did not allow Wes Anderson's "Isle of Dogs" to pass them by. The production company officially announced that they have acquired rights for the film expected to be released on 2018.

The "Isle of Dogs," a stop-motion animated feature tells the story of a young boy and his quest to find his canine dog in Japan. The dog named Rex will be voiced over by Edward Norton.

Aside from Norton, other male voices to be heard in the story includes F. Murray Abraham, Bob Balaban, Bud Cort, Bryan Cranston, Jeff Goldblum, Harvey Keitel, Bill Murray and Frank Wood.Greta Gerwig, Akira Ito, Scarlett Johansson, Kunichi Nomura, Yoko Ono, Koyu Rankin, Liev Schreiber, Tilda Swinton and Akira Takayama will also be voicing over some of the characters.

Fox Searchlight Pictures said in a statement that Wes Anderson is one of the most talented filmmakers of any generations due to his ability to translate smart and unconventional screenplays making him a unique voice in the film. They also believe in his ability to break the barrier between independent films and cross-over hits, according to The Variety.

Fox Searchlight Pictures is partnering with Indian Paintbrush in London in producing the "Isle of Dogs" which is planned to be produced domestically and internationally. This is going to be Wes Anderson's fifth movie done with the company.

Some of Wes Anderson's movies include "The Grand Budapest Hotel" released in 2014. He also did the "Fantastic Mr. Fox" in 2009 nominated for Best Animated Film and Best Original Score for the Oscars, as reported by The MXDWN.

The "Isle of Dogs" will be collaborated by some of the talents who also worked on Mr. Fox. Alexandre Desplat who worked on the original score of Anderson's 2009 movie will be working with Tristan Oliver who will do the cinematography and Ian Mackinnon and Peter Saunders, both will be in charge of the puppets.
