With some high-profile departures from the Chinese smartphone firm, things have started seeing a change in terms of global shipments and smartphone sales for Xiaomi. The Chinese manufacturer fell down the charts due to growing declines in unit sales in their local markets leading Apple by just a narrow margin.

Hugo Barra, the ex-VP of Xiaomi recently departed the firm in order to take the helm as the Vice President of Virtual Reality at Oculus, currently managed by the social media giants Facebook. In a media post, Mr. Barra praised the developments throughout his term as the vice president of Xiaomi leading to some insane profits during the entire period. The departure of Barra saw the immediate emergence of a new Vice President for Xiaomi.

A report from GSMArena reveals the official announce is due but however Xiaomi were quick to react on their Twitter feed congratulating Mr. Jain for his new position. Mr. Jain's continuous efforts in overseeing Xiaomi succeed in India highlights his success also resulting in Xiaomi's revenue increasing by 14.8 percent in the sub-continent.

Other highlights include a massive revenue of $1 million in India itself in 2016 that was reported by BGR. With the new position that Mr. Jain occupies, Xiaomi plans to approach the Indian markets both offline and online and achieve target sales of 25% than the previous year.

The move is finally done and a new Vice President is in place for both the firms. Manu Kumar Jain, who was previously looking after Xiaomi's affairs in the Indian consumer market will also continue his previous job alongside the new position handed over to him
