A new Sony Xperia smartphone is on its way to the markets thanks to a leaked set of images on a Chinese website which confirmed that new phone. With what it seems like presently, this new smartphone will reportedly replace a current selling Xperia smartphone. The leaked images match that of an FCC filing from Sony.

Earlier, a leaked set of images surfaced online which looks to be similar to the Sony Xperia X-series of smartphones. Further details from an FCC filing filed by Sony revealed part of the details about the phone which was then rumored to be Xperia XA2, Sony's new smartphone that's rumored to be announced at the Mobile World Congress this month.

The leaked set of images alongside a scanned FCC filing reported by GSMArena indicated that the report in no way revealed anything. However, the set of images hints that the following smartphone might be named 'Xperia XA2' or 'Xperia XA 2017'.  The initial glance indicates that it's a slim device with just the flash ring below the camera.

Additional details from The Leaker also reveal a USB Type-C reversible connector port alongside a 3.5mm audio jack to serve audio needs. The prototype unit seems to be working and will be running Android's latest operating system, Nougat v7.0.

The XA2 or XA2017 will run with the help of a Helios P20 chipset and 4GB of RAM. A 23MP f/2.0 sensor will also come with a front-facing 16MP camera which sounds like the XA2 might be one of Sony's top-end smartphones for the year.As expected, the price range for the smartphone is set at US$300 with the phone costing $320 for the US market. With the MWC only days away, the Xperia XA2 makes it into the list of all smartphones announced during the event.
