While Samsung will be preparing for the MWC keynote, their latest and current generation flagship smartphones are receiving Nougat updates after a long time. Nobody's sure why Samsung takes a good lot of time to release updates for the latest operating systems for their flagship smartphones. A fair bit of reasoning points out at the amount of bloatware that lies in the custom UI that Samsung users on all their smartphones.

Samsung has recently reduced all the massive bloatware that they're known for, in the recent smartphones beginning with the Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge. By letting users remove all unwanted proprietary Samsung apps, it's one of the first steps that the company has undertaken to slim down the custom UI for flagship smartphones. Those customers currently under contract with T-mobile will be receiving an OTA update that'll bring in all the latest features alongside the Nougat OS itself.

A report from the GSMArena reveals further details highlighting that the update will initially roll out to only those customers part of their beta program. All other non-advanced users will have to wait for their phone to receive the update. The current upgrade is about 117MB in size with the primary feature being the Nougat update alongside minor improved features and the menu UI.

The update will also likely ship out an improved multi-window feature which is now implemented directly into the operating system itself. Sam Mobile has detailed about the baseband version and other details which also mentions that the upgrade will include the latest monthly security patches.

As of now, T-Mobile is the only carrier to roll out a Nougat update and there's no precise information on whether other carriers will begin the process anytime soon. It's unclear as of now whether the OTA follows a batch procedure of roll out but it's recommended to keep checking for updates, frequently.
