Hugh Jackman is set to appear as Wolverine in the upcoming Marvel movie "Logan" next month. The actor has revealed in an interview that he is okay with Wolverine being passed on to somebody else, just not Daniel Day-Lewis.

Hugh Jackman has been playing Wolverine for more than ten years and it is unsurprising if the role is passed on to somebody else. "Logan" will reportedly be the actor's last time playing the clawed mutant for the Marvel franchise.

In an interview, the "Logan" actor said that he has no qualms with the recasting of Wolverine. However, he also said that he would have a "problem" if the iconic superhero role will go to Daniel Day-Lewis and that he wins an Oscar for it. According to Express, Hugh Jackman was joking when he referenced the method actor.

The outlet adds that Hugh Jackman may see Daniel Day-Lewis as a threat as the British actor has bagged three Academy Awards for Best Actor. Additionally, in past interviews the "Logan" actor revealed that Marvel may already have a replacement for him as Wolverine. He hinted that actor Tom Hardy would be fitting for the role as well.

"Logan" director James Mangold apparently finds it difficult to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. ComicBook reports that if it were up to him, no one other than Hugh Jackman should be cast as Wolverine. However, it was hinted that the director was joking and adds that a new actor may replace him in the next decade.

Hugh Jackman's last Wolverine movie, "Logan" will be released in the US on March 3, 2017. The film is highly anticipated and will star Wolverine's mutant clone, X-23.
