George RR Martin has revealed major information about his "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series. He disclosed news on his blog, called Not A Blog.

According to The Daily Telegraph, George RR Martin announced that his epic series will be concluded in just seven books. The author wrote in his blog, "Seven gods, seven kingdoms, seven books (eventually) ... seven seasons."

Fans are now speculating as why George RR Martin has mentioned 'Game of Thrones' having seven seasons. It has been confirmed that the HBO series will have eight season by the showrunners. Does the author knows some inside secrets that fans doesn't?

Many believe that given the process of writing, George R R Martin may take up to 2023 to finish all the books. The author also wrote about the Hugo Awards and further conveyed thoughts on his book series.

"I don't consider "A Song Of Ice & Fire" to be a series, not as I define the word," George R R Martin wrote in his blog. "I consider "A Song Of Ice & Fire" to be one single gigantic story published in multiple volumes. (seven, I hope)."

George R R Martin discussed the return of "Game of Thrones" Season 7 this July.  Interestingly, he encouraged fans to nominate episodes "The Door" and "The Battle Of The Bastards" for the Hugo awards. Both the episodes are from the previous season of HBO's epic drama series.

This has made many fans to speculate that the events that took place in those two episodes might be written in details in "The Winds of Winters". Currently, the TV series is all set to outrun George RR Martin's book series.

Talking about the George RR Martin's novel-inspired TV show "Game of Thrones", a new leak has surfaced. According to Entertainment Weekly, director Matt Shankman has revealed that the dragons this year are the size of 747s. This is to be noted that A 747 aircraft is about 230 feet in length and has a with a 210 feet wingspan. 

The director further added that Drogon will be the biggest compared to the other two and his flame is 30-feet in diameter. Many fans have made a special request to George RR Martin to write an episode in "Game of Thrones" Season 8, however, the author did not confirm if he considers this or not.
