A Brazilian dad has stabbed his four kids to death to allegedly get "revenge" on their mom, who left him.

According to The Daily Mail, the bodies of the children, aged 3, 6, 8, and 11, were discovered at their father's home in Alvorada City in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on Tuesday.

Police said they arrested David da Silva Lemos, 28, in a hotel in the neighboring city of Porto Alegre early the next day. After pacifying the kids with a "tea," he told police that he smothered them with a pillow and stabbed them multiple times with a knife.

Family members found the children's bodies with stab wounds in the front and back at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and immediately called the police.

After he was arrested, the Brazilian dad was brought to a police station, where he opted to exercise his right to remain silent.

Grandmother Says Brazilian Dad Wanted Revenge After His Partner Left Him

The children's grandmother, Idenise Martins da Silva, thinks the Brazilian dad stabbed his kids to death to get "revenge" on their mom, who recently broke up with him.

Da Silva told local media that Lemos had already attacked her daughter. She noted that "their relationship had ended for good, but he did it to get to my daughter."

"I'm sure of it - in the worst way possible. He is a coward," she added. Local media reported that Lemos had already been given a restraining order after assaulting the mom of his kids.

Authorities said the couple had been together for 12 years, but they separated after the Brazilian dad assaulted the mother of his children in September, The Sun reported.

The 24-year-old mom went to the police after the incident and asked for a restraining order against Lemos to protect herself.

Family members said the kids stayed with their dad but were set to go back to their mom's house in the coming days. Authorities said Lemos sent his former partner threatening messages shortly before the four children were killed.

Decomposing Remains of Two Kids Found in Brazilian Mom's Bed

Last August, a woman in Brazil was arrested on suspicion of killing her nine-year-old daughter and three-year-old son after their decomposing bodies were found at her flat in Guarapuava in Parana, Brazil.

According to The Mirror, Eliara Paz Nardes, 31, allegedly murdered her daughter, Alice Nardes de Oliveira, and son, Joaquim Nardes Jardins, two weeks before their remains were discovered.

Police found the children's bodies after the Brazilian mom contacted a lawyer to confess to the murders. Authorities said the bodies were lying on Nardes' bed with a blanket covering them to conceal the smell.

Police noted that the Brazilian mom told them that she felt she could not continue to provide for her children, who had different fathers, emotionally and financially. She added that she planned to commit suicide afterward but failed to do it.
