Somebody has finally won that massive $1.3 billion Powerball jackpot, and that winner has been announced to be somebody from Oregon. The jackpot is now considered the eighth-largest prize in US lottery history and the fourth-largest in the history of the Powerball.

There was a brief delay in the draw last Sunday, but the winning numbers are 22, 27, 44, 52, 69 with Powerball number 9, according to WKYC. The winning ticket was bought in Oregon but there were also winners who got at least five winning numbers right.

Two people who won a $2 million prize are from Florida and Texas. Meanwhile, tickets that won the $1 million prize were bought in Arizona, Delaware, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Wyoming.

With that massive $1.3 billion jackpot now won, the Powerball jackpot now returns to its starting point of $20 million during the next draw, scheduled on Monday, April 8. Those who take the lump sum cash option for that $20 million jackpot is worth $10.1 million.

According to Powerball lottery officials, the odds of hitting the jackpot are one in 292,201,338. It is slightly better to win the Powerball than the Mega Millions lottery, which has the odds of one in 302,575,350. For winning at least a million dollars in the Powerball, the odds are one in 11,688,053.52.

Oregon Powerball Jackpot Winner Is the First One To Win from the State

As for the winner, it has not been announced who he or she is yet. However, the state's lottery body has confirmed that this is the first time somebody from the state has ever won the Poweball jackpot, and it just so happens that it was the 8th-largest in US lottery history.

"This is our first winner on this scale so this is very exciting for us," Oregon Lottery spokesperson Melanie Mesaros told ABC News on Sunday, confirming that the winning ticket was sold in the Portland zip code 97218. A winner has not yet come forward so the identity of who won has not yet been revealed.

"I want to congratulate the winner on this life-changing moment," Oregon Lottery director Mike Wells said in a statement. "No one in Oregon has ever won a prize on this scale, and it's very exciting for our staff and players."

Should the winner choose to take the lump sum, he or she would immediately get $621 million. Those who choose an annuity payment will get the $1.3 billion paid over the course of 30 years through 29 annual installments.

Powerball Organizers Explain Why There Was a Delay in the Draw

Powerball organizers announced that the delay in draw was because they needed to complete required procedures before the scheduled draw, according to the Associated Press.

"Powerball game rules require that every single ticket sold nationwide be checked and verified against two different computer systems before the winning numbers are drawn," said the Powerball Organizers in a statement. "This is done to ensure that every ticket sold for the Powerball drawing has been accounted for and has an equal chance to win. Tonight, we have one jurisdiction that needs extra time to complete that pre-draw process."
